  • 8+ years of relevant tax experience, ideally with a combination of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and corporate tax

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international tax laws
  • Oversee the preparation and review of tax filings, working closely with external advisors and internal teams
  • Partner with the VP of Tax to develop and execute tax-related financial forecasts, reports, and analysis to support business objectives and financial planning
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, evaluate their impact on the company, and recommend actionable solutions
  • Design and oversee internal tax controls and compliance policies to mitigate risk and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments, identifying and addressing areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to provide guidance on tax implications of business strategies and transactions
  • Serve as the go-to tax expert for the company, providing insights and support on mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring activities
  • Play an active role in mentoring and developing the tax team to support the company’s succession planning efforts
  • Prepare for the transition to VP of Tax through hands-on leadership, strategic input, and proactive alignment with executive goals
