Requirements

  • Currently studying towards a degree in an Engineering, Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Maths, Technology, Computing or General Science discipline
  • British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship (security clearance requirements)
  • Able to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS)

Responsibilities

  • Work within Systems Design functions to design Complex Weapons capabilities for UK and partner nation Armed Forces
  • Complete a placement on a project at any stage, from future capabilities to in-service products
  • Understand the make-up of a missile or weapon system, from warhead to seeker and wider components
  • Apply the Systems Engineering ‘V’ model across the product lifecycle, including researching future technologies and novel domains
  • Develop requirements and functional architectures
  • Create concept solutions through Agile methodologies
  • Analyse performance and conduct trade space studies
  • Conduct verification and validation through trials and lab tests
  • Engage with people across engineering fields, business teams, suppliers, customers, and international colleagues
