Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent
Working experience of 10+ years with 5+ years in storage domain
Very strong system programming background with C/C++/Golang for large enterprise class software
Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and multi-threaded programming
In-depth knowledge of OS internals, networking, and storage concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Prior experience handling support for customer issues/escalations is highly desired

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs system software programs for enhancements and new products for storage systems
Develops system/platform software for enabling different components on the storage arrays
Designs and develops new features as part of periodic firmware release for X10000 family of storage products
Designs and develops features/capabilities related to Object storage
Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including IO path, storage management, databases, and cloud-related applications
Improves/stabilizes a codebase release by targeted code fixes and minor enhancements
Triages and fixes customer issues as part of minor releases and creatively addresses customer issues through validated work-arounds
Collaborates with cross-organizational teams (Hardware, Firmware, System management, Network teams, Architects, etc.) to arrive at the best solutions
Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture
Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of system; identifies and debugs issues with code and integration into system architecture
Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and external partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution
Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members
