Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent supply chain experience
  • Background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Aftermarket Parts, Demand Management and/or Logistics is highly desired
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with tools like Excel, Power BI, SQL, and SAP
  • Ability to work onsite five days a week at the Morton, IL office
  • Up to 10% travel may be required

Responsibilities

  • Address day-to-day supply and capacity constraints to improve supplier performance and rapid response to Caterpillar requirements
  • Manage risk and recovery related to foreseeable and unforeseeable value chain disruptions across global regions including U.S., Europe, and Asia
  • Leverage analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and improve overall supply and network performance
  • Collaborate across multiple business division functions to address and resolve supplier issues to meet or exceed customer needs
  • Effectively communicate ideas, information, and needs using appropriate behaviors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies in supply chain workflows and recommend process enhancements using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies and SAP tools
  • Interpret complex data sets to uncover trends and performance gaps, develop forecasting models for inventory planning and demand management, and use SAP analytics for data-informed decisions
  • Lead supply chain projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met, and coordinate with stakeholders and vendors
  • Demonstrate self-starter initiative by independently launching and managing improvement projects
  • Evaluate scenarios using cost-benefit analysis for optimal supply chain strategies, make timely decisions under pressure, and resolve bottlenecks using SAP data and structured problem-solving
