Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required; Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1 year experience in automotive manufacturing/battery automotive quality role preferred
  • 6 months of experience in SAP/ERP systems preferred
  • Familiarity with key performance indicators of a quality department
  • Proven track record of excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Reasoning ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • Computer skills: Knowledge of SAP Inventory software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to stand for long periods, including during operation of stand-up lifts
  • Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. repetitively

  • Wear all PPE (including electrical PPE) as required
  • Support 5S/Housekeeping activities

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in quality of incoming material received from external suppliers
  • Submit lab work orders of supplied components to be measured in lab and processed in a timely manner
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
  • Utilize SAP to submit purchase requisitions and confirm inventories
  • Open new sort projects and aid in creation of work instructions for sorts
  • Collaborate with 3rd party sort groups to ensure timely product sort, error proofing, clean points, etc. are successfully executed and communicated
  • Prioritize necessary sorts to support delivery of components to machining/assembly line
  • Attend daily Material Review Board (MRB) meetings
  • Create complaints on purchased materials (CPMs) within internal tracking system to ensure timely communication to key stakeholders and escalate if supplier is non-compliant
  • Create debits within BW Internal SPS
  • Accurate use of handheld gages (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
  • Responsible for part gathering, obtaining supplier RMA number, sort data, packaging, and shipping components to suppliers
  • PPAP support
  • Attend daily operations meetings as required
  • Other clerical, document creation, minimal technical, and assistant type duties
  • Audit task performance to standards
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures
