Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, particularly within regulated industries such as nuclear or industrial manufacturing. Strong knowledge of quality management systems like NQA-1, ISO-9001, and AS-9100 is required, as well as familiarity with regulatory standards including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, ASME BPVC Section III & VIII, and IAEA 56-C-Q. Qualified inspector credentials and a desire to achieve certified NQA-1 auditor status are preferred.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will lead the supplier qualification process through pre-assessments, audits, and capability reviews, conduct supplier audits against various standards including NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, and ISO-9001, manage supplier corrective actions and non-conformance investigations, oversee supplier inspections and documentation reviews, collaborate with engineering and project management teams to resolve issues, track supplier performance metrics, and support supplier capability development plans while maintaining accurate records and reports to support audits and regulatory reviews.
