Responsibilities

  • Supervise activities of accounts receivable, credit balance, and denials staff in daily tasks
  • Handle denials, credit balance resolution, and accounts receivable follow-up
  • Coordinate with Accounts Receivable Manager and Business Office Director for quality account services
  • Support execution of process flow for collections and accounts receivable to achieve quality results
  • Provide guidance and supervision to accounts receivable associates, denials associates, and credit balance associates
  • Validate accuracy of associates' performance, conduct quality audits, train team members, evaluate and ensure quality performance
  • Oversee day-to-day efforts of associates in prioritizing, troubleshooting, and monitoring accounts
  • Be available to associates for questions, support, and triaging to the Accounts Receivable Manager
  • Assist Accounts Receivable Manager with development of immediate and future goals and objectives for the department
  • Assist with analysis, collection, and maintenance of records for Quality Assurance, Joint Commission, OSHA, or legal requirements
  • Support operations, including assisting with escalated customer questions or disputes on bills/charges, and answering incoming calls on billing/charge questions, credit terms, or complaints
  • Verify billing accuracy
  • Review and initiate appeal information when appropriate
  • Implement process changes to accelerate cash flow and improve department productivity
  • Participate in continuing education programs and professional activities in revenue cycle and healthcare finance
  • Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees; plan, assign, and lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems
