Job Description: Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Market Research Analysis

Employment Type: CONTRACT Position Type: Temporary Part-time Consulting Agreement Location: Remote Duration: 14-16 weeks (approximately 16-18 hours total, 1-2 hours per week) Compensation: $1200

Position Overview

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Market Research Analysis with deep industry knowledge and experience to guide the implementation of our next generation of simulation-based career exploration for customers in this sector. The SME will provide consultative guidance, lead assessment and discovery phases, and recommend simulation application strategies from a domain perspective, ensuring client expectations are exceeded. Experience with technology product delivery and management is a plus. The SME will identify and propose opportunities for simulation-based career exploration within the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the product design team to develop authentic task simulations for career exploration.
  • Provide guidance to designers during the exploratory phase, including outline and storyboard reviews.
  • Create task analyses detailing the knowledge and steps required for trainees to perform specific skills, including providing media references for final design.
  • Ensure desired customer outcomes are clearly understood and achieved.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers.
  • Evaluate simulation deliverables to ensure features align with industry standards, regulations, and customer expectations.

Desired Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in market research and analytics, including recruiting, training, or hiring within this field.
  • A degree in market research, marketing, business administration, statistics, social sciences, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in Education, particularly in training, licensing/certification knowledge, and leadership.
  • Knowledge of the curriculum and educational requirements for various Market Research Analyst career paths.
  • Strong technology skills; experience with virtual reality products is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify where virtual reality would be most effective for educational purposes.
  • Ability to advise on educational program evaluation, including design, process improvement, performance measurement (quality, safety, cost, etc.), and educational effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior-level leaders in educational institutions and industry, as well as less technical audiences.
