Requirements

  • High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate
  • College Certificate/Degree in Stationary Engineer, minimum 4th Class
  • Certified Ontario Trades Person
  • Licensed to practice as a Stationary Engineer
  • 1 year of previous maintenance experience in a controlled and regulated environment
  • Ability to read drawings and schematics
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and/or independently
  • Maximo CMMS program experience is desirable
  • Attention to detail and quality of work
  • Proactive and organized approach to completing tasks timely and efficiently
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) Regulations
  • Ability to deal confidently with inside and outside clients
  • Good working knowledge of electronics and pneumatics is desirable
  • Good communication skills
  • Works well in a Team environment
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Proficiency with the English language
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform building operational duties in accordance with TSSA regulations for a guarded power plant
  • Perform environmental systems adjustments and changes to maintain GMP specifications and manufacturing requirements
  • Maintain all boilers, Compressors, HVAC, Dust Collectors and auxiliary equipment
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day BAS system related to environmental temperature, humidity and differential pressure issues
  • Repair, rebuild existing equipment and install new auxiliary equipment
  • Perform general maintenance on facilities-related equipment as per CMMS maintenance program
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform daily logging on Purified Water System
  • Perform daily boiler water testing as required under TSSA regulation
  • Maintain facilities equipment, auxiliary equipment and building maintenance, including operator training and operation
  • Work with Group Leaders and Production Supervisors to schedule equipment downtime for maintenance within Preventative Maintenance program timeframes
  • Schedule equipment availability to perform preventative maintenance on time and maintain accurate records according to GMP requirements
  • Participate in Operational meetings, Rapids, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and others as required
  • Coordinate with outside contractors regarding maintenance and repairs to related equipment
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards
  • Perform alternating or rotating shift work as well as work during maintenance shutdowns
  • Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Work collaboratively with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives
  • Perform all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems
