Requirements

Candidates should possess 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years focused on designing, building, and scaling distributed systems. Expertise in cloud-native technologies, including networking and security, is required, along with prior experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure and a deep understanding of cloud best practices. A BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience, is necessary, and an advanced degree is preferred. Proven experience in leading and mentoring technical teams, along with strong communication and collaborative techniques, is essential.

Responsibilities

The Staff Software Engineer will serve as the technical lead for key initiatives within the Stream Governance product, responsible for delivering functionalities like Confluent Stream Catalog, Stream Sharing, Stream Lineage, and Data Portal. They will design, architect, and develop cloud-native, multi-tenant services for Stream Governance, guiding the product vision and providing technical leadership. Responsibilities include mentoring the engineering team, tackling complex distributed data challenges, enhancing platform efficiency with state-of-the-art solutions, and ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of mission-critical services with a 99.99 SLA across multiple cloud regions.
