Position Overview

Confluent is revolutionizing data movement with its Data Streaming Platform, enabling companies to react faster, build smarter, and deliver dynamic experiences. We are seeking a Technical Lead to join our Product Security organization and lead the Cloud Authentication Platform team. This role is critical in defining and driving the technical vision for authentication across all Confluent products, ensuring seamless security and operational excellence.

About the Role

As the Technical Lead for the Cloud Authentication Platform, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of security within Confluent's Data Streaming Platform. You will guide the technical direction, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the platform meets the evolving authentication needs of Confluent's products.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the technical vision for the Cloud Authentication Platform.
• Collaborate closely with product management, engineering leadership, and other key stakeholders to build and drive the overall roadmap.
• Deliver high impact initiatives in areas such as the Data Streaming Platform, security, reliability, architectural direction, and major component refactors across organizational boundaries.
• Work with engineering teams and product on critical aspects of product definition, security, API design, and delivery.
• Influence the overall security, health, and operational hygiene for the Product Security Platform.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience designing resilient systems at scale in at least one of the major CSPs (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven track record of reducing complexity and creating critical enduring technical foundations.
• Ability to influence the team, peers, and upper management through effective communication and collaboration.
• Class-leading expertise in Go, C++, Java, or other statically typed languages.
• Experience with container orchestration technology (Kubernetes).
• A great track record of timely feature shipping with a sense of urgency, an aggressive mindset towards achieving results, and excellent prioritization skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
