Requirements

  • Around 10+ years of experience in software development, of which 2 years are relevant Engineering Leadership experience
  • Strong design and architectural experience in building various highly-scalable and highly-available systems

Responsibilities

  • Building new features, enhancing existing ones, and supporting them in production
  • Building reusable libraries or technology platforms that address multiple use cases
  • Working towards delivering specific milestones and objectives in a very dynamic environment
  • Working closely with Engineers to develop the best technical design, strategy, and drive execution to build capabilities into the platform
  • Service ownership for the assigned services
  • Owning the delivery of various timelines, ensuring that key milestones are met and deliveries are of the highest quality
  • Establishing various best practices for software development and encouraging their adoption with the team and organization
  • Collaborating with other non-technical stakeholders of the business, including Product Managers, Designers, Marketing, etc
  • Encouraging and mentoring an excellent team of talented engineers by mentoring them and working with them to remove any roadblocks
  • Ensuring functional availability of the software developed and enhancing the product based on functional requirements
  • Managing cloud-based services and web applications for their functional correctness, availability, and security
  • Deploying and maintaining enterprise-class RESTful web services
  • Owning the engineering excellence and operational readiness of the service, driving the SLO, SLI, SLA of the relevant services
  • Taking ownership to drive quality of the services under your purview via integration test and unit test coverage
  • Being responsible for all microservices within your purview, driving their quality, security, availability, scalability, and other “ilities”
  • Diving deep into each issue, owning reactive fixes, and executing long-term fixes
  • Assisting other Support Engineers on complex RCA issues
  • Providing technical mentoring and guidance to other engineers
  • Providing L3 engineering support
