Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, coupled with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 5 years of experience, or a PhD and 2 years of experience. Proven experience in developing embedded or robotics software on resource-constrained compute platforms is essential, along with a minimum of 5 years of development experience using C++11 or newer in a systems programming role. Experience in a Linux or Unix environment is required, as is the ability to design software components and systems, communicating designs effectively through documentation and presentations. A strong team player attitude and a track record of successful collaboration on cross-functional product development teams are also necessary. Experience with Bazel and ROS or other robotics platforms are considered advantageous.
The Staff Software Engineer will design, develop, and test reliable, high-performance software for autonomy functions, and create tools to provide insights into system performance and behavior. They will collaborate with the simulation team for accurate off-vehicle testing and work closely with autonomy teams to ensure seamless integration of the runtime infrastructure. Responsibilities also include creating automated unit and integration tests to verify software functionality and participating in system-wide software architecture development.
