Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience across the stack, including front-end engineering and modern design principles
  • 4+ years of experience building scalable, distributed systems using a modern cloud framework (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, cloud platforms, and data integration frameworks
  • Strong programming skills (Java, Python, Go) and experience with microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, DICOM)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and DevOps practices
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and build consensus within the team
  • Desired Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience
  • Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Experience designing/architecting large-scale systems

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain user-facing experiences, APIs, and scalable distributed services for healthcare data integration
  • Take ownership of individual software components, emphasizing quality, test-driven development, and sound engineering practices
  • Implement innovative solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security
  • Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all team deliverables
  • Work with architects, product managers, and engineering teams to align on technical direction and data strategies
  • Participate in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback and mentoring junior engineers
  • May lead projects with low risk and resource requirements; act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Drive improvements in testability, operational excellence, automation, and documentation
  • Promote best practices and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence
  • Implement robust security and privacy controls in accordance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Work directly with end customers to assess needs, identify solutions, and resolve disagreements constructively
