Requirements

Experienced security engineer with 12+ years in software or security engineering roles, including significant experience architecting and securing large-scale platforms or distributed systems
Deep understanding of platform security domains such as identity management, cryptography, API security, supply chain security, and cloud infrastructure security
Skilled in threat modeling, architectural risk assessment, and designing secure-by-default frameworks
Strong programming skills and familiarity with modern cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern service development (K8s, microservices, service mesh)
Growth mindset with proactive problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills to engage technical and leadership audiences
Approach work with a growth mindset and leverage AI to make faster, smarter decisions

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of security architectures and controls for Box’s foundational platforms, including identity, API integration, frontend frameworks and mobile security
Conduct architectural risk assessments and develop secure components and patterns to make our platforms and frameworks secure-by-design
Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, security architecture, production security, and compliance teams to integrate security into our new platform development
Drive continuous improvement by researching emerging threats and vulnerabilities
Mentor and guide security engineers on finding and remediating security problems at scale
Influence company-wide security standards and contribute to organizational knowledge sharing around platform security strategies
