Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in reliability or life testing of medical capital or consumer equipment and instruments
Demonstrated proficiency in designing, validating, executing, and documenting reliability test methods and protocols including HALT, HASS, and Accelerated Life Testing
Proficient in statistical analysis

Responsibilities

Work with product development and sustaining teams to ensure highly reliable products through application of Danaher reliability tools (e.g., Failure Mode, Effects & Criticality Analysis, structured problem solving, reliability modeling, reliability predictions)
Support assessment and improvement in final product reliability
Work closely with mechanical and electrical design, software, firmware, and manufacturing engineers to characterize and demonstrate design improvements through testing and simulations
Make/review/improve/execute plans for systems/subsystems reliability testing, including design, procurement, and automation of systems/subsystems throughout the reliability tests
Support design team efforts for bench testing critical components and subsystems
Define and implement functional and reliability requirements of systems/subsystems to plan reliability/life tests that evaluate short/long term compliance with specifications
Provide reliability predictions, along with test plans and methods to assess and drive product reliability to desired levels
Develop & present methods of correlating reliability test results with actual field performance
Interact and work closely with ME, EE, SW, FW, IT, PM engineering groups and suppliers to ensure desired reliability using Design for Reliability (DfR) approaches including FMEA and DoE
Work with R&D, Manufacturing, Customer Care, and Quality groups to resolve customer complaints/manufacturing issues during early commercial stages by performing reliability prediction of failure mechanisms on products under development and in the field
Own product and engineering design reviews, assessing reliability budget of products/designs and inspiring changes to improve product reliability
Articulate needed design changes to improve product reliability and influence/align cross-functional stakeholders on those recommendations
