Garner is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their team and contribute to the development of core systems related to client onboarding and reporting. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a focus on improving the U.S. healthcare system. Garner has experienced rapid growth, doubling revenue annually over the past five years and is expanding its team by over 50% each year.
Requirements
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on work delivering full-stack software.
- TypeScript/JavaScript: Expertise in TypeScript (preferred) or modern JavaScript.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate design rationale and concepts.
- SQL & Data Modeling: Excellent understanding of SQL and data modeling.
- Frameworks: Familiarity with React, NodeJS, Docker.
- Cloud: Familiarity with a major cloud provider (e.g., AWS).
- Data Ecosystems: Familiarity with data ecosystems - DBT, Snowflake, Python.
- Database: Experience with one or more database systems, especially PostgreSQL or ElasticSearch.
- Agile: Experience working in a team using Agile methodologies and fluency with the Agile toolkit.
- Mentorship: Experience mentoring team members and acting as a technical multiplier.
- Startup Environment: Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment.
- Authorization: Authorization to work lawfully in the United States of America (Garner does not engage in immigration sponsorship).

- Design and build extensible systems that can grow with the business needs.
- Collaborate across disciplines to understand the domain and iterate on new ideas.
- Lead technical strategy and decision-making.
- Support the Garner app in production.
- Protect users’ privacy and security through secure coding practices.
