Requirements

  • Curious about users and love deeply understanding their issues through "why, why, why" questioning to create creative designs
  • Thrive in autonomy, shaping the product without always needing a PRD to start design explorations
  • Experience mentoring and supporting designers at various levels with feedback, coaching, and growth in craft, confidence, and impact
  • Ability to establish and scale design best practices, processes, patterns, and principles for quality, consistency, and velocity
  • 8+ years of experience designing SaaS products for Enterprise customers (startup experience preferred)
  • Appreciation for the holistic craft of product development, building credibility with PM and engineering through understanding their disciplines
  • Care about details and delivering the best end-to-end user experience, never considering improvements "out of scope."
  • Focus on outcomes over output, knowing when to use a multi-step design framework vs. quick sketches to unblock the team
  • Ability to think big and deliver incrementally, balancing big ideas with high-velocity incremental experiences
  • Strong point of view (POV) on distinguishing good from great products, serving as a "taste test" for designs

  • Experience with Tailwind and comfort writing/editing HTML and CSS
  • Experience shepherding work through GitHub pull requests and giving feedback on engineers' code for designs

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed, pixel-perfect, and differentiated designs for new product features
  • Mentor and collaborate closely with design peers to provide and receive feedback, raising the bar on all builds
  • Lead design and user experience for significant product parts, contributing from prioritization through launch and spearheading 0-1 initiatives
  • Become the voice of the customer by talking with users to understand needs/goals and channeling insights into designs
  • Work closely with PM counterpart to understand company strategy/OKRs and influence the roadmap for maximum business impact
  • Partner closely with engineers to implement designs, iterating collaboratively on technical constraints
  • Leverage and contribute to the design system (Stylus) for consistency and efficiency across the product
