Requirements

PharmD or equivalent degree and active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice
Ability to maintain relevant clinical and technical skills through company-required trainings and CMEs
Flexibility for scheduling and business needs
Ability to act as a role model, coach pharmacy team members, and provide feedback
Knowledge of pharmacy workflow procedures, safety guardrails, inventory best practices (including cold chain), and state Board of Pharmacy regulations
Skills in immunizing patients and supporting technicians to learn immunization
Capability to deliver clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception)

Responsibilities

Live the company's purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members, following up on performance measures, and providing feedback to the Pharmacy Manager
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and proactively resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the team on best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; support Pharmacy Manager by writing the pharmacy schedule if directed
Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care services where permissible; empower the pharmacy team to provide such services
