Requirements

Candidates should have 7+ years of experience as a software engineer and 7+ years of working experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, or SQLite is required, along with a background in shipping high-quality software. Familiarity with C++ and/or Rust is a plus. The role also requires strong asynchronous written and verbal communication skills for distributed team collaboration, a willingness to provide and receive constructive feedback, and a keen interest in AI and its application in a privacy-preserving and secure manner.

Responsibilities

The Staff Full Stack Engineer, AI will build high-quality user interfaces and experiences for Firefox, keeping accessibility and usability in mind. Responsibilities include writing code and tests, building prototypes, solving complex problems, and collaborating with designers and engineers to improve the web. The engineer will learn about various problems and solutions within a large codebase, work with multi-functional teams, and contribute to leveling up the skills of fellow engineers through code reviews, talks, and documentation. They will also promote and maintain high standards of code quality, focusing on performance, testing, security, usability, accessibility, and maintainability, while contributing to improving engineering practices and procedures.
