Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in testing embedded systems, microcontrollers, and microprocessors
  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Python for testing and automation
  • Hands-on experience with debugging and communication tools (JTAG, UART, CAN, etc.)
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git
  • Understanding of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN)
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for embedded hardware debugging
  • Strong analytical skills & strong problem-solving skills to translate from system requirements and use cases to detailed test cases and participate in troubleshooting issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
  • Familiar with setting up of test environment for V&V activities
  • Strong communication skills (Preferred)
  • Experience with JIRA for defect tracking and test management (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Jama for requirements and test case traceability (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of safety-critical standards such as IEC 62304 (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for embedded software
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing on embedded systems
  • Automate test cases using scripting languages like Python or Bash
  • Utilize debugging and hardware tools such as JTAG programmers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
  • Analyze and understand hardware schematics to aid in debugging and test development
  • Document test results, generate reports, and ensure proper traceability using JIRA and Jama
  • Collaborate with developers and Test leads to improve testability
  • Participate in Test Planning, system test strategy, methodology, and creation of system integration test cases and make them traceable back to the system requirements, feature lists and design documents
