Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field plus 1-3 years of relevant working experience
  • Able to learn and accurately assess business processes and related internal controls

  • Audit experience in Big 4 or public accounting firm is preferred
  • Professional certification (CPA, CISA, CA, CIA, etc.) is preferred
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a Manager and/or Senior Auditor, assist with audit planning, perform and document assigned audit testing procedures for financial and operational audits, SOX testing, management consulting, and other projects, in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Global Internal Audit Standards
  • Validate and evaluate operational procedures, internal checks, and governance protocols throughout various functions, business units, and locations in alignment with US GAAP and Baxter guidelines
  • Identify and document issues and opportunities for improvement related to assigned testing areas
  • Use data analytics, as needed, to conduct testing and improve audit efficiency
  • Collaborate and communicate with the Internal Audit team and management to ensure testing areas are completed efficiently and effectively
  • Effectively apply the Internal Audit software tool for testing, documentation, and follow-up. Ensure work papers clearly document all testing performed, sources of data, findings, and conclusions
  • Validate management action plans to ensure adequate remediation is put in place
  • Keep abreast of regulatory and industry changes as well as changes to Baxter policies
  • Complete at least 40 hours of relevant training and development per year to improve professional skills and business insight
  • Assist with recruiting and on-boarding of new Internal Audit team members
  • Work and support Internal Audit continuous improvement initiatives
