Requirements

Experience as a Senior CyberSecurity Analyst (email borne threats) or strong desire and skill set to become one
Highly intelligent, analytical, and driven
Passion for combating email borne threats (phishing, malware, BEC, spam)
Ability to analyze email messages and large data sets to classify as spam, phishing, malware, BEC, bulk, or ham
Skills in deep analysis of spam message headers and structures to identify novel features
Ability to design rules/signatures to detect and block email borne threats
Coding experience and skills, particularly in Python for developing and maintaining applications/tools
Ability to write clean and efficient code, debug, troubleshoot, collaborate with teams, and participate in code reviews
Knowledge of database systems (plus)
Availability for rotating on-call basis to respond to emerging or ongoing threats
Ability to work in a creative, enthusiastic, geographically distributed team in a 24/7/365 "follow the sun" model

Responsibilities

Identify, parameterize, and respond quickly to spam attacks against large organizations
Analyze customer-reported email messages and large data sets for correct classification
Perform content development: deep analyses of spam headers/structures and design rules/signatures to block threats
Develop ad-hoc tools to aid/streamline analysis activities
Design and develop new Proof of Concept (PoC) threat detection systems
Develop and support existing Threat Detection PoCs based on the framework
Develop and maintain Python applications/tools
Participate in future requirements definition discussions for products to define messaging abuse landscape
Be available on rotating on-call to develop signatures for emerging/ongoing threats
