Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for clinical studies and regulatory affairs to ensure scientific validity, regulatory compliance, ethical conduct, and timely product approvals
  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies for timely product approvals from worldwide regulatory bodies
  • Ensure regulatory submissions are accurately prepared and comply with approval requirements
  • Represent Medtronic in clinical research within the country/region, collect feedback from local customers and authorities
  • Build and maintain strong networks and relationships with internal and external parties
  • Lead execution of local and global studies and manage clinical research projects across Medtronic therapies and businesses
  • Supervise team members or subordinate supervisors, providing tactical and technical leadership
  • Plan and establish goals and objectives for the team within the department
  • Oversee area of responsibility, manage performance, develop talent, ensure engagement and inclusion
  • Communicate business and operational developments, plan, prioritize, and direct responsibilities of direct reports
  • Conduct performance reviews, staff 1:1s, and guide performance management and employee development
  • Make improvements to processes, systems, or products; address complex problems
  • Communicate with internal/external customers and vendors across organization levels to share information and gain cooperation
  • Manage day-to-day budget elements (e.g., overtime for staff)
