Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field, along with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on software development experience in CDN engineering or cloud networking functions, delivering high-quality solutions. Experience with HTTP technologies, including reverse proxy (e.g., WAF and CDN) and forward proxy (secure web gateway), is required, as is experience with serverless application development.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Staff Software Engineer will design, develop, and deploy CDN configurations to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability for diverse customer websites, considering varied business requirements like e-commerce and media. They will provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on networking and cloud security best practices, including edge computing principles and technologies, implement and maintain edge security solutions, stay up-to-date on emerging cloud technologies and security trends, develop and maintain documentation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, automate and optimize processes, improve WP Engine’s secure and performant platform, expand observability services, and work closely with Product Management to integrate security controls into edge networking solutions.
