Requirements

Candidates should possess 8+ years of experience as an engineer in machine learning, with demonstrated experience in building and deploying machine learning models for user-facing applications, and a deep understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts including deep learning, natural language processing, large language models, and reinforcement learning. Proven expertise in one or more of these areas is required, along with experience with tooling in the AI ecosystem, such as open-source tools and cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure), and experience with design of experiments, survey design, and large-scale AB testing.

Responsibilities

The Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer will identify strategic opportunities where Large Language models improve the user experience in Firefox, lead the design, development, and integration of innovative AI and machine learning models, and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI to inform feature development. They will also mentor other engineers, collaborate cross-functionally with product management and engineering teams, and lead by example to upskill the team on AI, while consistently identifying difficult problems and driving them to completion, demonstrating technical leadership across multiple teams and prioritizing responsible AI practices.
