Requirements

  • Successfully completed degree with a focus on optics in Physics, Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering, Optical Engineering or equivalent, with subsequent professional experience
  • In-depth knowledge in applied optics, optical coherence tomography (OCT), wavefront optics, and low coherence interferometry
  • Knowledge in optical spectroscopy (e.g., Raman or IR spectroscopy) is advantageous
  • Professional experience in industrial R&D environment, ideally with interdisciplinary and international teams
  • Strong communication skills, independent and responsible working style combined with team ability
  • Problem-solving skills using advanced scientific methods
  • Knowledge in GxP and Lean Six Sigma is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Development and optimization of optical measuring devices and methods for characterizing contact lenses and contact lens surfaces
  • Analysis and interpretation of measurement data using common statistical tools (e.g., Matlab, Python, R, Minitab) and communication of insights gained from the data
  • Expert and international contact person for complex measurement systems
  • Qualification of optical measuring devices and validation of measurement methods for the release of contact lenses
  • Independent execution of projects in a GxP environment
