Requirements

Expert understanding of networking issues, TCP/IP, UDP, IPv6, and issues relating to network connections, timeouts, and optimizing operating system and kernel configurations (e.g., Linux, JVM)
Experience optimizing storage technologies, network stack tuning, and application-level threading issues
Good understanding of Java, C, and C++ code to read, analyze application networking and data storage issues, and provide input on code reviews
Knowledge of data structures, different databases and technologies, particularly NoSQL style data storage
Ability to learn quickly and understand in-depth details of data models, capacity issues, system design, and architecture
Experience as an operating system, networks, and/or data storage specialist

Responsibilities

Work across multiple teams and components providing architecture, design, implementation, and review to a broad range of products and technologies across the ThreatMetrix platform
Develop high performance C++ servers providing low latency responses to customer queries from around the globe
Work on Java applications, JavaScript and Web technologies applications, iOS and Android mobile apps, and Web portal architecture
Handle data structure and storage optimization
Optimize configuration and tuning for various high performance, low latency software components in multiple in-house applications
Conduct research and experimentation to improve product efficiency
Provide cross-team and cross-platform engineering input and oversight
