Requirements

  • BSEE Degree
  • 15 years of engineering experience working on circuit board design
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and applicable Engineering Software
  • Experience in the medical device industry and FDA Regulations (preferred)
  • Design of circuit boards with embedded processors (ARM preferred)
  • Experience working with Altium or Mentor Graphics to develop schematics and layouts
  • Experience in electrical simulation and design analysis (Multisim preferred)
  • Experience with digital design and basic software development for testing hardware designs
  • Experience with documenting designs and analysis including hardware requirements, hardware detailed design, DFMEA, Risk Analysis, and testing requirements
  • Experience designing communication interfaces between circuit boards including CAN, USB, SPI, I2C, LVDT

Responsibilities

  • Own the design of a complete module, circuit board, or sub-assembly from conception to production as part of an R&D project team
  • Work as part of a team and ensure that the project progresses in the defined manner
  • Mentor junior engineers and give guidance on technical issues
  • Engage in design reviews and help resolve complex problems
  • Design circuit boards that run motors, control touch screen displays, monitor patient weight, heart rate, and respiratory rate, and control blowers for air mattresses
  • Be involved in every part of the process: working with hospitals to understand user needs, developing requirements, setting schedules, designing circuit boards, testing designs, supporting circuit board manufacturing, supporting product assembly procedures and test systems, and supporting initial deliveries to customers
  • Develop innovative healthcare solutions and support development within Hospital Bed Platforms to meet customer needs and regulatory standards
