Requirements

  • Leadership experience in managing engineering personnel for utilities in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment
  • Deep technical expertise in core utilities areas: HVAC, Gray Utilities, Clean Utilities, Electrical Distribution, Utilities and Environmental Controls (Tank Farm / Bulk Waste)
  • Knowledge of GMP and non-GMP utilities and ancillary systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including trending critical process parameters, industry standards, and trends
  • Experience with compliance activities such as deviations, change controls, and CAPAs, in collaboration with Operations, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, and Quality Assurance
  • Familiarity with external regulations, Industry/Lilly Standards, and Best Practices
  • Ability to lead and participate in teams, committees, or groups to achieve departmental, site, and company goals
  • Collaborative, inclusive leadership style to build organization capability, capacity, and culture during startup phase (2025-2027)
  • Experience developing and implementing systems and processes for operating and maintaining critical infrastructure, leveraging internal and external knowledge
  • Commitment to regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and lean principles

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Utilities Engineering group within the Facilities, Utilities, Maintenance and Engineering (FUME) organization, building deep technical expertise and capability in HVAC, Gray Utilities, Clean Utilities, Electrical Distribution, and Utilities and Environmental Controls (Tank Farm / Bulk Waste)
  • Oversee all engineering aspects of centrally and locally managed utilities on the LMF campus
  • During project phase, align with Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) in cross-functional teams for construction, commissioning, qualification, startup, and operational readiness of utility systems
  • Drive operational efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle management of critical Bulk/Site Utilities during day-to-day operations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and local capital investments for critical utilities
  • Ensure resolution and implementation of compliance activities (deviations, change controls, CAPAs) with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure systems and processes align with external regulations, Industry/Lilly Standards, and Best Practices
  • During startup phase (2025-2027): Build organization with necessary capability, capacity, and culture; develop/implement systems and processes for critical infrastructure; ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence via lean principles; support project team with feedback and hands-on assistance
  • Provide daily support as a passionate leader
