Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5 years' experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on full-stack web development
  • 2 years' hands-on experience building front-end applications with Vue.js, React, Lit, or similar frameworks
  • 2 years' experience developing back-end services with Node.js
  • 1-year minimum experience designing and implementing APIs in GraphQL AND experience building and deploying microservices in a production environment
  • Proven experience applying TDD to deliver high-quality, testable code and the ability to articulate this experience in an interview
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Knowledge of front-end performance optimization and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.2)
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, OpenAPI specifications, and GraphQL best practices
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes basics)
  • Experience interacting with databases, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) varieties
  • Familiarity with event streaming (e.g., Apache Kafka) for building scalable, real-time data pipelines
  • Ability to provide high-speed DSL or cable modem for home office (25mbps download x 10mbps upload minimum; no satellite or wireless)
  • Dedicated home office space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect PHI/HIPAA information
  • Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required
