Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
5 years' experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on full-stack web development
2 years' experience building front-end applications with Vue.js, React, Lit, or similar frameworks
2 years' experience developing back-end services with Node.js
1-year minimum experience designing and implementing APIs in GraphQL
Experience building and deploying microservices in a production environment
Proven experience applying TDD to deliver high-quality, testable code
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
Knowledge of front-end performance optimization and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.2)
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, OpenAPI specifications, and GraphQL best practices
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes basics)
Experience interacting with databases, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) varieties
Familiarity with event streaming (e.g., Apache Kafka) for building scalable, real-time data pipelines

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-quality web applications from end to end
Independently own the full development lifecycle, including building accessible user interfaces, implementing robust backend microservices, and integrating the two with GraphQL
Collaborate with cross-functional teams while exercising considerable latitude in determining technical approaches to project assignments
Apply TDD to deliver high-quality, testable code
Work with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
Ensure front-end performance optimization and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.2) are met
Design and implement APIs in GraphQL and build and deploy microservices in a production environment
Interact with databases, both SQL and NoSQL varieties
Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required
