Requirements

  • Experienced publishing professional with demonstrated knowledge of current music publishing administration procedures
  • Working knowledge and understanding of copyright law, licensing procedures, and royalty calculations (typically gained through three or more years of experience)

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead Film/TV Licensing operations, including initiation of quotes, tracking of sync payments, and follow-up on outstanding items and license execution
  • Collaborate with Director on strategic planning and execution of copyright registration, licensing, and copyright management
  • Manage the Licensing@pmgsonymusic.com email account/inbox, providing prompt and effective responses to customer inquiries
  • Collaborate with the Director to secure Derivative Work agreements for catalog protection and growth
  • Identify and recover uncollected revenue through Metadata/Registration validation, ensuring alignment between recording and composition information across societies
  • Work through the Common Works Registration (CWR) Acknowledgement file backlog for societies including ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, CMRRA, SOCAN, Harry Fox, and Music Mark
  • Manage processing of translation requests, liaising with global partners for accurate translations into languages such as Spanish, Russian, Korean, Swedish, and German
  • Ensure timely management of the Translations@pmgsonymusic.com inbox
  • Contribute to catalog enrichment by adding lyrics to Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) songs
  • Collaborate with Director in maintaining and updating the catalog for relevance and accuracy
  • Work with Director on the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC) Data Quality Initiative to resolve conflicts
  • Oversee processing of administration agreements for compliance and accuracy
  • Validate royalty terms and conditions with meticulous attention to detail
  • Manage accounts within the Maestro system
  • Participate in cross-training to assist with other Publishing Administration Team functions, including registering songs with societies via CWR and processing quarterly royalty statements
