Requirements

Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience. They should have 3+ years of experience using Ruby and Rails in a production environment, along with experience using a relational database system such as PostgreSQL. A deep understanding of RESTful API design and a solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals are also required, as well as knowledge of how JavaScript frameworks and mobile apps interact with APIs.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Back End Engineer will write great code and contribute to the analysis, design, critique, and continual improvement of the site architecture and software components. They will translate product requirements and technical designs into well-engineered, low-defect, robust code, research new technologies or methodologies to improve architecture and user experience, and lead code reviews. Additionally, they will troubleshoot systems issues, perform extensive unit testing, system testing, and regression testing, and interface with team members to debug and fix issues in both production and non-production environments.
