Requirements

  • Technical leadership and expertise in HSE programs, particularly Health and Safety (with potential Environmental involvement)
  • Ability to collaborate, show creativity, and demonstrate resilience in a dynamic startup environment for a greenfield GMP manufacturing site
  • Knowledge of applicable corporate, local, state, and federal HSE regulations, including staying updated on changes
  • Experience supporting project delivery, design decisions, construction, and startup plans while ensuring compliance

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of the HSE operational readiness plan for the Lilly Lebanon API facility as a collaborative team member
  • Lead implementation of assigned HSE operational readiness programs (e.g., lockout tagout, PPE, hazard communication, ergonomic hazards, confined space entry, machine guarding, working at heights, powered industrial vehicles, health and safety risk assessments)
  • Support the project team by providing input and feedback on health and safety-related design decisions, construction, and startup plans to meet deliverables and compliance requirements
  • Develop and roll out safety and health programs, procedures, tools, and HSE management systems, including training, mentoring, and onboarding new staff to build HSE culture
  • Develop partnerships with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to manage change, ensure safety and compliance of new systems, and set requirements for safe startup
  • Serve as site key contact and HSE program expert, advising manufacturing and support units on regulatory requirements
  • Ensure internal and external HSE reporting is coordinated, completed, and submitted on time, including second person verification
  • Act as a resource for operational areas to understand regulatory requirements and implement compliant solutions; facilitate implementation
