Requirements

  • Master’s degree with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competency)
  • Additional certification for working with students with speech and/or language disabilities
  • Valid Arkansas Standard Certification in speech pathology
  • Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card OR State license issued by the Arkansas Department of Health as a Speech-Language Therapist/Pathologist and a Clearance 1 (IVP) Fingerprint Card

Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate students with language difficulties or delayed development
  • Provide speech and language services in alignment with each student’s IEP
  • Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team to review eligibility for students with speech and language needs
  • Prepare lesson plans aligned to IEP goals in collaboration with classroom teachers
  • Complete all required local, state, and federal documentation for student caseloads
  • Act as a resource for teachers, parents, and administrators on speech and language needs
  • Participate in initial and ongoing training for speech and language paraprofessionals
