Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a Master's degree being a plus. They should have 3-6 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis, particularly within the aerospace or satellite industry, and proficiency in CAD software such as NX or SolidWorks. A strong understanding of structural analysis techniques, including finite element analysis (FEA) and hand calculations, along with knowledge of drafting standards like GD&T, is required, as is familiarity with manufacturing processes for aerospace-grade materials and components. U.S. Person status is also a requirement.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs and models for satellite structures, subsystems, and components, conducting structural analyses to ensure compliance with performance and reliability requirements, optimizing designs for weight reduction and manufacturability, evaluating and selecting materials, collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in AIT, performing environmental testing, preparing technical documentation, maintaining records, generating reports, staying updated on advancements, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing to research and development projects.
