Requirements

  • Currently studying towards a degree in Engineering (including General, Mechanical, Manufacturing/Production, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, and Software), Computing, Maths, Physics or Astronomy
  • Must have the right to work in the UK (unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visa)
  • As a minimum, must be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
  • Capable of achieving required medical and national security clearance, including undergoing HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS)

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other teams to gain exposure to a variety of development stages within weapons systems, including both embedded and front-end software development on platforms such as Windows and Linux, utilising C, C++, C# and Java
  • Get exposure to some aspects of a software development lifecycle and develop skills necessary to become a well-rounded software engineer
  • Learn about the functional and technical robustness of project deliverables
  • Understand the importance of technical documentation
  • Work with other departments within the company to learn a general overview of the business
  • Apply university learning to real-world engineering projects and technologies
