Software Engineer - Marketplace

Position Overview

Fleetio is seeking a product-minded and team-oriented Software Engineer to join our rapidly scaling Marketplace Engineering Team. This role is ideal for someone committed to consistently delivering quality software.

The Fleetio Marketplace is a comprehensive platform designed to help customers easily find and purchase products and services essential for their fleet operations. Key components include:

• Shop Integrations: Enable efficient management of external maintenance activities and provide insights into service data.
• Fleetio Pay: Streamlines service work management and offers simple payment solutions for Fleet Managers.
• Vendor Support: Allows vendors to maintain up-to-date shop details and monitor payments from Fleetio customer transactions.

In this role, you will be responsible for writing maintainable code and implementing new features, with a focus on connecting customers to maintenance shops and facilitating service, approvals, transactions, billing, and data entry for fleets.

This position is part of the Engineering department, reporting to the Web Engineering Manager.

Your Impact

• Design and implement features to enhance our Marketplace offering, including payment facilitation for vendors and customers.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers to deliver high-quality software consistently.
• Contribute to technical discussions, share innovative ideas, and help shape solutions.
• Deliver well-tested, maintainable, and performant code.
• Prototype and experiment with new approaches to validate technical strategies.
• Participate actively in code reviews, sharing knowledge and ensuring team-wide quality standards.

Your Experience

• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• 1+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Some experience with ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with data modeling and writing efficient queries.
• Solid experience in solving complex architectural problems with good design principles.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in written form.
