Candidates should possess at least 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience with a focus on developer experience, infrastructure, or CI/CD. Proficiency in CI/CD systems like BuildKite, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI is required, along with experience using a major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). A strong command of at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, or Bash is essential, as is a collaborative, customer-obsessed mindset and excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Bonus points for experience building internal developer platforms or portals, using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi), or familiarity with observability platforms (Chronosphere, Prometheus, Grafana).
The Software Engineer II, DevEx Engineer will evolve CI/CD platforms to provide faster, more reliable feedback loops for engineers. They will build and own internal tooling, build systems, and local development environments, and identify and integrate cutting-edge tools and practices, including AI-powered assistants, to enhance developer productivity. This role involves autonomously leading multi-month projects that improve engineering team productivity and technical quality, collaborating with product engineering teams to understand pain points and deliver solutions, and championing best practices for development, testing, and deployment. The engineer will also contribute to the team's roadmap and strategy by identifying opportunities for high-impact improvements.
