Software Engineer II - Partner Engineering

About the Job

Flex is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Partner Engineering organization. In this role, you will be responsible for building out our payment integrations platform and user experiences. You will focus on the backend systems and services that manage our critical external integrations and power our product. Collaboration will be key, as you'll work with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, Design, Infrastructure, Sales, Partner, and Customer Success to deliver exceptional products for our customers and partners. We expect you to be hands-on, execute work as an individual, and build products that are adaptable to our evolving offerings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Java.
• Ability to work effectively on a globally-distributed team with a high degree of ownership.
• Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, successfully aligning expectations on scope and delivery.
• Ability to thrive and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that challenges you to perform at your best.
• Experience building robust, fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies.
• Proficiency in Java frameworks and tools used at Flex, including Spring (core/web/boot), Gradle, JUnit, and JVM (memory/performance tuning, GC).
• Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture, REST APIs, Message Queues, and scalable architectures.
• Experience with AWS (EKS, Aurora RDS, Elasticache, DynamoDB) and containerization tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in CI/CD systems (preferably GitHub Actions), git, and automation.
• Skilled in observability and monitoring tools, such as DataDog, to ensure high availability.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, using tools like CDK and Terraform.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.

Salary and Compensation

The salary compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.

• For working locations in NY/NJ/CA: The base salary pay range will be $179,000 - $194,000.
• For all other states: The base salary pay range will be $161,000 - $175,000.
