Software Engineer II - Enterprise Support

Salary: £65K - £75K Employment Type: Full-Time Location Type: Remote (London based for occasional in-person interaction)


Position Overview

HackerOne is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Enterprise Support team. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Managers and Designers on challenging projects, building features and products for our community and the thousands of companies that rely on HackerOne for their cybersecurity. You will leverage your technological expertise, domain knowledge, and dedication to business objectives to drive innovation and deliver exceptional results.

Location and Work Approach

This position is primarily remote, with a requirement for candidates to be located in London or surrounding metropolitan areas. This allows for occasional in-person interactions to support team collaboration and foster stronger connections, balancing flexibility with the benefits of in-person relationship building.


What You Will Do

  • First Day: Warm welcome and tool setup.
  • First Month (H.A.T.C.H. Onboarding): Get acquainted with the company and colleagues, set up your development environment, understand engineering processes, and gain a deep understanding of the domain.
  • By Day 30: Meet most Engineering colleagues, pair with other Software Engineers, gain familiarity with codebases and products, and prepare for hands-on coding.
  • By Day 60: Contribute meaningfully to a project, build connections with the team and stakeholders.
  • By Day 90: Make significant technical contributions, earn trust and credibility within your squad, and present progress during review/demo sessions.
  • Beyond 90 Days: Become a fully integrated software engineer, understanding the business value of products and features, translating feature requests into robust engineering solutions, and meeting customer needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering, particularly within a SaaS environment.
  • Experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails, Python, or other object-oriented languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or interest in generative AI.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch / OpenSearch.
  • Experience with GraphQL.

Compensation

  • Band: £65K – £75K
