Senior Frontend Software Engineer
KoBold MetalsFull Time
Senior (5 to 8 years)
The role requires experience in building intuitive, responsive, and performant frontend interfaces, contributing to foundational UI architecture, and evolving editors with a focus on performance, flexibility, and scalability. Experience in creating clear, actionable UI surfaces for debugging and resolving errors, building reusable components and data visualizations, and improving observability through the user interface is also necessary. A passion for building robust systems, enabling advanced user workflows, and shaping the future of automation is essential.
Responsibilities include building the core engine that powers Zapier's automation platform, scaling capabilities, reliability, and intelligence. This involves reinventing how users build automations, laying the groundwork for faster, smarter, and more intuitive workflow authoring experiences, and redesigning editor foundations to support new paradigms like AI-assisted creation and advanced configuration options. The role also includes creating UI surfaces to help users detect, debug, and resolve Zap errors, and collaborating with Product and Design to simplify complex workflows into accessible UI patterns.
Automation platform for web application workflows
Zapier connects various web applications to help users automate their workflows and improve productivity. It allows users to create 'Zaps,' which are automated workflows that link different apps to carry out specific tasks without needing technical skills. This platform is particularly beneficial for small to medium-sized businesses and individual professionals who want to save time on repetitive tasks. Unlike many competitors, Zapier offers a user-friendly interface that makes it easy for anyone to set up automations. The company operates on a subscription model, providing different pricing tiers based on the number of Zaps and tasks a user requires, with the goal of making automation accessible to a wider audience.
