Requirements

Candidates should possess 4-6 years of professional experience in software engineering or a related role, along with experience exploring, developing, and implementing advanced AI technologies into shipped software such as reinforcement learning algorithms and machine learning pipelines. Experience taking full ownership of projects from specification to deployment and scaling is also required, as well as comfort working across the stack including frontend, backend, and infrastructure. Bonus points are given for experience in tax, bookkeeping, or embedded fintech.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer (Applied AI) will build agentic tooling to understand tax law, turn it into software code, and test its correctness, ingest and process millions of data points from uploaded documents and APIs to auto-fill tax returns, build and extend APIs for partners, and create UI for the embedded tax platform. They will also be responsible for meeting the team, shipping features, reviewing code, demoing work, leading projects, mentoring teammates, and identifying process improvements, as well as working through collaborative challenges and redesigning systems.
