Requirements

  • Expertise in embedded controls
  • Passion for agile problem-solving in controls development
  • Proficiency with tools such as Matlab/Simulink, INCA/MDA, GMSIM, and others for analysis
  • Ability to collaborate across Agile Release Trains (ART), including with Suspension calibration teams, Systems Engineers, System Architects, and Technical Specialists
  • Knowledge of Lean-Agile principles, standard work, design principles, and best practices
  • Experience with DFMEA/AFMEA, failure mode analysis, and defining system behavior under fault conditions
  • Understanding of safety and government requirements/regulations
  • Familiarity with Scrum processes, including feature decomposition, user story elaboration, definition of done, and acceptance criteria
  • Skills in developing and executing test cases at multiple integration levels (SIL, HIL, Vehicle)
  • Ability to lead technical workgroups, algorithm design reviews, and issue resolution initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Develop controls designs utilizing Lean-Agile principles
  • Develop supervisory controls and diagnostics for GM in-house height controls using standard work, design principles, and best practices
  • Collaborate with Suspension calibration teams to design robust algorithms meeting system requirements
  • Conduct analysis on design changes using tools like Matlab/Simulink, INCA/MDA, GMSIM
  • Lead development and review of subsystem DFMEA/AFMEA and analyze failure modes for robust algorithm design
  • Define system behavior under fault conditions and incorporate into production algorithms
  • Ensure algorithm design adheres to safety and government requirements/regulations
  • Lead technical workgroups to decompose requirements into controls design
  • Support Scrum Manager with ART feature decomposition and user story elaboration
  • Communicate with Scrum team to align on design intent and support implementation of software components
  • Provide information for Calibration procedures and Behavior Test Specifications (BTS)
  • Verify functional performance of controls designs
  • Support development of feature or component BTS with Scrum team
  • Support robustness and BTS testing on SIL, HIL, or Vehicle
  • Develop and execute test cases at multiple integration levels
  • Review test results and incorporate modifications into controls design
  • Host algorithm design reviews and verify performance metrics via test data analysis
  • Verify acceptance criteria through test and data analysis
  • Provide feedback to hardware teams on issues identified during design and analysis
  • Lead issue resolution initiatives, investigate issues, and incorporate lessons learned
  • Document lessons learned, Best Practices, and Intellectual Property
  • Participate in scrum and ART ceremonies
  • Utilize Problem Resolution Tracking System (PRTS)
  • Produce innovative methods to improve efficiency
