Requirements

Post-Secondary, University degree in progress or completed in a program of study such as Social Media Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related
Available for a 3-4 month work term at minimum
A natural storyteller and clear communicator who creates compelling, audience-first digital content
Experience in and a passion for social media content creation, particularly social video content creation (strong asset)
Strong knowledge of key social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn) and experience with social media governance and compliance
Solid understanding of social media analytics and paid advertising
Comfortable leveraging AI tools and other emerging tools to enhance content and campaigns
Proficiency in design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.) and skilled in video editing for quick-turn content for social media or internal communications channels (plus)
French language skills (asset)

Responsibilities

Develop engaging social media copy and playbooks, and manage internal approvals (Medical, Regulatory, Legal) through the Veeva Vault Platform
Contribute to the creation of compelling multimedia content—including digital images, videos, and copy—and execute and optimize social media campaigns across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues across Marketing & Communications to bring creative ideas to life
Support the development and implementation of Alcon’s social media strategies and best practices, engaging stakeholders and partners
Monitor, moderate, and provide compliance reporting for social media channels on an ongoing basis
Track and analyze performance data, deliver campaign reports, assess engagement, and recommend improvements to maximize reach and effectiveness using key metrics and analytics
Work closely with communications and marketing teams, as well as agency partners, to support integrated marketing and PR campaigns
Assist in planning and management of social media editorial calendar
Drive employee engagement and promote social media literacy across the organization
Other administrative support tasks as assigned by the Communications team
