Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of related experience within a laboratory setting or customer service (preferred)
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and desire to deliver excellent customer service, including maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong desire to serve the customer and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel
  • Operating skills to use handheld scanners to enter data in various systems and analytical skills to reconcile reports
  • Ability to understand the complexity of various work environments and work safely following all policies and procedures
  • Computer proficiency with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • Organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance (regularly 30-40 lbs., up to 50 lbs. occasionally)
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. using equipment like pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, forklifts
  • Ability to stand, walk, and conduct manual material handling (twisting, bending, reaching, lifting) for prolonged periods
  • Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures (cold rooms/freezers -22°F/-6°C, outside weather conditions)
  • Ability to work with hazardous/toxic materials and wear PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes, bump hats)
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Use inventory/order management electronic systems for on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing
  • Perform laboratory services such as order delivery, dry ice delivery, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation
  • Proactively connect with supervisor on any customer concerns and/or potential problems and address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes
  • Engage in process improvement activities
  • Be involved with safety programs such as hazard identification, inspections, and incident reporting/investigation as required
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management
