Requirements

  • Exceptional verbal communication skills in cross-cultural settings, with fluency in speaking and listening Japanese
  • Strong skills in commercial simulation software (e.g., Hyperworks, ABAQUS, Nastran)
  • Knowledge of mechanics (e.g., Mechanics of Materials, Elastic Mechanics) to explain simulation results theoretically
  • Knowledge of Metal Material Science (preferred)
  • Knowledge of metal fatigue and skills in structural fatigue analysis, especially for welded structures, including standards like ASME, IIW
  • Ability to write detailed technical reports and simulation documents
  • Experience in physical test support, including test plan creation, follow-up, data analysis, and simulation-test correlation
  • Mastery of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++) for scripting and automation to improve simulation efficiency
  • Proven ability in cross-functional collaboration, mediating conflicts, and aligning diverse perspectives

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate simulation requests between the simulation team and overseas design team (primarily in Japan)
  • Perform structural simulations to support product development
  • Leverage simulation to investigate and address structural failure issues
  • Create and follow up on physical test plans
  • Perform simulation-test correlation
  • Track developments in structural simulation technologies and pursue continuous improvement in simulation accuracy and efficiency
