Requirements

  • Expertise in Audio/Video Engineering for attractions, rides, show, and park/resort wide systems
  • Ability to perform A/V engineering tasks including blue sky system definition, mockups, preliminary media scope, evaluation of creative intent, facility acoustic design and evaluation, delivery/source equipment criteria and selection, facility sizing, supporting infrastructure, production, installation, Test and Adjust
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes, discipline, and standards
  • Experience enforcing quality in final products and managing budget, schedule, and quality of deliverables
  • Strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills with engineers, Audio Media Designers, Acousticians, and external organizations/companies
  • Ability to apply creativity, foresight, and engineering judgment to anticipate/address A/V problems, meet objectives, and develop standards/guidelines
  • Experience contributing to engineering teams across all stages: design, documentation, production, installation, testing, and final reporting for complex projects
  • Skills in overseeing field technicians and support staff
  • Familiarity with A/V department standards and procedures
  • Capability to plan A/V engineering resources and schedules for estimating
  • Proficiency in developing specs and test plans
  • Experience overseeing design from blue sky to project turnover
  • Knowledge of identifying, gathering, defining, and documenting audiovisual interface requirements for utilities (e.g., electrical power, cooling/heating loads)
  • Ability to create, review, and approve top-level, layout, and design drawings for electronic subsystems
  • Experience identifying/collecting vendor electronic equipment specifications, overseeing vendor design processes, and resolving technical issues
  • Skills in conducting risk analysis and reporting to management
  • Ability to guide designers in creating facility and equipment drawings and manage interfaces between controls, ride mechanics, and audio elements
  • Troubleshooting skills for first article assembly issues

Responsibilities

  • Make decisions and recommendations influencing significant A/V engineering activities for new attractions and theme park lands
  • Establish and maintain frequent communication with engineers, Audio Media Designers, Acousticians, and members from other organizations/companies
  • Contribute to engineering teams throughout all stages of design, documentation, production, installation, testing, and final reporting for complex projects
  • Ensure creative and functional objectives are translated into detailed design requirements
  • Oversee field technicians and support staff as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with A/V department standards and procedures
  • Plan A/V engineering resources and schedules to support estimating
  • Develop specs and test plans
  • Oversee design from blue sky to project turnover
  • Identify, gather, define, and document audiovisual interface requirements for utilities, including specifications for electrical power, equipment cooling, and heating loads
