Description: This role offers an opportunity to edit videos for prominent creators and companies such as Sahil Bloom, Ali Abdaal, Dyrdek Machine, Arlan Hamilton, and Brex. Multiple video editor positions are available, and candidates will be matched with clients based on their skills.

The ideal candidate is a talented Video Editor & Virtual Assistant who excels in a fast-paced, content-driven environment. Beyond simply cutting footage, the role involves telling compelling, visually engaging stories tailored for platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and podcast formats. Responsibilities include working closely with a CEO, transforming raw footage (talking heads, podcast clips, screen recordings) into polished, professional content with strong hooks, effective b-roll usage, and consistent visual identity across various formats. A keen eye for detail, excellent file organization, and an understanding of platform-specific content performance are essential. Experience with CapCut, editing talking head videos, and an interest in social media strategy are highly valued.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years as a Video Editor.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in video editing software, with a preference for CapCut.
  • Content Specialization: Proven experience editing talking head-style videos.
  • Platform Knowledge: Strong understanding of social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent file organization and management capabilities.
  • Brand Consistency: Ability to maintain a consistent visual identity across all video content.

Responsibilities

  • Video Editing & Post-Production:
    • Editing short-form video content (e.g., Reels, TikToks, podcast clips).
    • Editing long-form video content (e.g., 10-15 minute YouTube videos, podcast clips).
    • Applying consistent filters and 4K edits to all videos.
    • Crafting engaging hooks within the first 3 seconds by strategically cutting and arranging clips.
    • Implementing upper/lower split-screen techniques, integrating CEO footage with relevant stock footage.
    • Adding b-roll, pop-ups, and overlays to enhance messaging.
    • Creating greenscreen-style videos with relevant background footage.
  • Content Formatting & Optimization:
    • Optimizing videos for specific platforms: Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and podcast formats.
    • Formatting captions, subtitles, and on-screen text for clarity and engagement.
    • Repurposing long-form content into short-form clips with compelling hooks.
  • Content Strategy & Social Media Management (Bonus):
    • Developing release strategies for long-form videos.
    • Identifying optimal platforms for content distribution (e.g., Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).
    • Planning accompanying social media content, including stories and promotional posts.
    • Social media management experience is considered a plus.
  • Content Support:
    • Managing and organizing raw footage, b-roll, and project files.
    • Assisting the CEO with content scheduling and administrative tasks related to video production.
    • Researching and sourcing relevant stock footage for b-roll.
    • Maintaining an organized video library for efficient access and reuse.
