Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or related field)
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering testing of energetic materials
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen (not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations)
  • Strong background in engineering testing and analysis of energetics
  • Deep understanding of explosives safety regulations, laboratory operations, and compliance within a high-stakes environment
  • Strong understanding of various testing methodologies and maintenance practices for energetics systems and formulations

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Execute Testing Strategies: Develop and implement testing strategies for energetic materials, ensuring adherence to OP-5: Ammunition and Explosives Safety Ashore or equivalent safety standards
  • Manage Operations: Oversee day-to-day testing operations, laboratory equipment, and personnel, prioritizing operational safety, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency
  • Perform Testing and Analysis: Conduct in-depth testing and analysis of energetic systems, chemicals, and formulations to validate performance, quality, and safety
  • Apply Expertise: Utilize expert knowledge of maintenance techniques and testing procedures relevant to energetic systems and materials
  • Review Documentation: Review and contribute to technical documentation, including technical data packages, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality production documents, and process documentation
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices for the handling and testing of energetic materials
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams to support development, testing, and troubleshooting initiatives
